I've had 3 Chevy vans and 1 Dodge van; I currently have a Express 3500.
I've been very happy with the Chevys and with an accumulated mileage of
200K, I've not had any major problems like engine/transmission. They are
"old school" technology BUT the Dodge is even "older school".
The Dodge had numerous ECu problems which let us down a couple of times. I think a solder inside ECU breaks and the engine dies. I had 3 ECUs die on
me and the van only had 50K miles. I could not trust the van any more and sold it.
The 3500 is the best tower I have owned; The v8/transmission combination is a dream; The brakes are great and it's a comfortable cruiser.
