Hi Guys (and gals), We have a 2007 Chevy Silverado 2500 four wheel drive diesel with Allyson transmission, it now has 150k miles on it. It's been around the country three times with trailers and now fifth wheels and we think it's time to renew our truck.We've been very happy with the performance and reliability of the Chevy but we thought we might like a change. I'm sure they are all comparable but if there are high points or low points in the other makes we'd love to hear from you. We pull a lightweight 36ft fifth wheel, 9,500 dry weight. They make a 36 foot 5er that only weighs 9500 lbs!!? Anyway, to answer your question; Ford.

I don't agree that its time to renew the truck. If you like it just keep driving it.

You had good luck with your 2007 Chevy Silverado 2500 four wheel drive diesel with Allyson transmission, why not start there with a new one? But maybe look for a 3500.

Save your money and keep your awesome dependable truck!!! put some money into customizing it and new seats ??? Or the new GM duramax HDs will be out soon check them babies out for size when they arrive

Take some of the money you were going to spend on the new truck and spend it on the current one. Things like shocks, front end parts, trans and diff maint., etc.
Show the truck you care about it and it will work great for another 100k.

My truck has 396,000 miles on it, and I love the payment, $0. Now I have $400 a month to put into my camper.

O.K. O.K. - we hear you!!! thank you all!! you saved us 50 grand! and to the gentleman who wondered about the 36ft fifth wheel at 9,5000 - it's a Coleman, light weight and built of tinfoil but suits us right down to the ground, we love it, just keep bolting bits back on it. Lots of room and tows like a dream

It's a diesel. You just barely have the engine broken in. Drive it another 500,000 miles and then you might want to start looking.

What suits you suits you.

Not everyone needs or wants a diesel, small load flat terrain, not always needed.

I drive a diesel, because it fits my needs, you drive a gasser because it suits your needs.

Really only 150,00 mile on a LBZ, DuraMax/Allison, keep it for at least another 100,000K.

We are perfectly happy with our '04.5 truck with 153k and counting. Not planning on refreshing it with a 60k one.
