  • The powers that be HIGHLY recommend no caulk above. I think that because people block off the AC's ability to drain the condensation when its running. So no, no caulk.

The previous posters are 100% correct. Rest assured this is an Easy fix. Just look up your AC model on youtube and follow the simple instructions. Remember,, easy does it but make it snug.

This was my biggest beef with an otherwise stellar RV dealership that I bought my first RV from. Being new, I asked exactly what I should look for in the way of maintenance in the first year. What breaks/wears out/loosens that I need to watch for. I guess they wanted the repair business and weren't aware of this thing called the Inturweb.
  • As stated, start with tightening the four bolts that clamp it in place.

Do not crank down on them. I would start by turning them a half turn and see if that stops it.

Do not snug them up. Once that gasket is fully compressed you will have to replace it, which means removing the ac.
  • good advice ,when you tighten the nuts ,just snug , not torqued down, wipe every thing dry ,turn the hose on it or wait for a rain. while your waiting order a new gasket.
  • The hold down bolts are probsbly loose. Tighten them carefully and evenly a little. Over tighten will create more problems.
  • The gasket between the roof and the AC unit would be first item. Look up your make and model. Some AC unit mounting bolts can be tightened other wise needs new gasket.
