A/C Leak ?

You're welcome. Chris is the one we need to be thanking. He's very helpful on specific threads here, but he also writes some blog articles, AND takes time to upload User and Service manuals to his website where we can access and download them.

I've done the A/C Tune-Up on two Coleman Mach A/C's. I was ready to replace the first one. 20 years old and cooling poorly. The cleaning restored it to COLD. On the second one, I was also working on the fan/blower motor so I cleaned the indoor blower wheel as well. That isn't part of Chris's process. It's quite a little more involved because you have to pull the motor to remove the blower wheel, but in my case the wheel was very dirty and the effort was worth it.

The drip pan is under the evap coil which is under another cover (after removing shroud) and is towards front of A/C unit (condenser coil is towards rear)

You usually can not see the drip pan drain holes with out removing shroud and cover over evap coil

My Mobile repair sees this a lot and it does 'not' mean your roof is rotten either. He sees it with new ones right off the lot.

On a perfectly leveled RV which we all try to attain, The water will pool around the unit and come in to the inside.

I experienced this when it was raging hot running the A/C 24 7's and I was parked "for the first time" in the shade. The sun couldn't help evaporate it like it had for the past year RV'ing. Took one leveling block out from the front tire and ALL the water ran off. Thankfully the RV mobile repair did not charge me for informing me how to fix it!

Your Mobile "tech" does NOT know what he is doing and what he is talking about. I probably work on MORE AC units in 1 month, than he does all year (yes in 100 degree temps) and I have been a REAL tech for 34 years, and have NEVER had the type problem you describe unless the roof area around the AC was indeed rotting and the AC dropped down slightly inward. We sell NEW units and used and work on all brands of new and customer units motorhomes and towables. There is NO way a correctly functioning AC unit will allow condensate water to get back into the RV. If you do have a LOW area the AC sits in, just install a double gasket and that gets it up that extra inch to prevent what your "tech" stated. But, you do NOT have to lean the RV to one side or another and I can GURANTEE, IF I suggested such a thing to any of my customers, MY boss would have my head. Doug

No clear solution.

2 yrs ago I experienced this in Corpus Christi Tx. No problem in low humidity regions. Same old thing when ever I came to TX. This yr I have the TT tilted. Last summer I was on roof cking ac drain pain holes and found NONE. Also I found no "drip hose". So I drilled a hole in the drip pan.

So here I am again in Texas RANDOMLY having the same issue.

There are 3 or 4 possible reasons. The neighbor has one of 'em

I found on mine if the intake filters get dirty the blower will suck water out of the tray into an area where it can drip down.

If the evap coils ice up due to low charge.. That can do it.

So can a bad seal between roof and A/C but normally those leak in the rain as well.

Makes perfect since. You will need to remove the shroud on the A/C unit and you will see a tray the A/C sets in. At the back corners there should be two holes the water drains out. They may be plugged. You will need to get on the roof to do this. There usually is a bunch of screws around the bottom holding it on.
