This is our third weekend using our ac and the other two times it worked great. This time the unit has frozen up twice. We like it cold the first time the ac was on 60 and today it froze up when it was set at 72. I'm I doing something wrong or should I take it in for warranty repair?
No reason not to have it checked under warranty. First though be sure air cleaners are perfect. Higher fan speed helps. All windows closed. Maybe evaporator temp sensor is bit out of position.
If nothing else works, this probably will: Raise the thermostat setting just enough that it doesn't freeze. In one degree increments so the unit kicks off before the freezing occurs. It may only require a degree or two.
