IvyLog is completely correct.The value posted on your tag notice is the 40 % value. The actual fair market value they are looking at is 2.5 times that amount.I believe you can file an appeal with your county tax assessors just like you can on a home or other property you own.They may try to get out of it but by state law it is their job to FAIRLY access the value of any property that is taxable.
