Adco cover turning into powder

Called Adco today, sent pictures of my powder keg, picture of receipt and Adco tag on front of cover showing build date which was June 2012. Will wait and see what happens.

Bought in October 2012 and it sat in the box till May2013 when my 3 year old gray Adco cover finally bit the dust. Just went out and looked again and a new hole developed about mid way up the front cap. No sharp edges just flat plastic, there are other areas where holes just appeared from nowhere. The front and rear straps have dried out and broken but I cut all the straps from the old cover and have been tying them through the grommets and using them. So the cover has been on since May 2013 and is turning to powder right before my eyes.

According to the video on the CW website, they recommend padding all sharp edges. That will help some with the holes. As far as the material turning to dust like that, seems like it is drying out. I imagine in arizona things dry out a lot quicker than other places of the country.

As others said, call Adco.

My ADCO cover looked like that after two years. By year three it was toast.

A garage or barn is the only way a TT will stay looking new for years. I covered my Sunnybrook and the sun still took it's toll even with wax. With this new Wind River I was told to wax it a few times a year and with the new siding it should be good. We'll see about that. Perhaps with a full body paint it would last for 10+ years kept waxed. Plus the new TT is a foot taller with a bowed roof, solar panel, skylights, a real accident waiting to happen if I have to get up there.

I am on my third Adco cover. The first one was the grey one and it lasted three months short of the 2 year warranty. They sent me another one but it did not come with a warranty. Apparently you only get to exchange it once. It lasted one and one half years. I am now using the designer one. It seems a little better but it is only six months old. I live on the California coast and get some sun depending on the weather. But it only gets up to 70 here and it still didn't last two years. I think its better that the cover deteriorates then the trailer in my opinion.

our designer series is going on year #4, used anytime the trailer isn't going out for a few weeks, summer and winter. It has a few punctures from sharp things like the steps but nothing like what you show. Actually, the Tyvek roof section has more holes I had to repair, most from birds, but some where things like the AC cover screws wore through.

Actually the sides are in wonderful shape virtually no wear.

But then we don't get lots of sun. I'd give Adco a call and see what they have to say.

BTW the best way I found to repair tears is to put a patch of the Adco adhesiver repair material over the hole then cover it with awning repair tape. Holds much better than the adco adhesive.

I'm on my 6th or 7th season with my adco cover, I use it only for the winter season...early spring to late fall it gets stored in the garage. I wonder if adco is buying them from different/cheaper venders. sun or not, only a few months? something is not right.

That's really strange. My ADCO is one of the grey ones, it's ten years old and has never done anything like that.
