dlos , Our T.T. started having this issue for the past 2 summers, but we notice more this year since it's been a very wet summer in Michigan. And having a very wooded parcel does not help in drying things out.

I doubt it is powdery mildew, powdery mildew needs a live host (live plant) to survive and grow.

It sounds like white mold or mildew. You can't really tell without testing. They are treated the same and have the same cause. High humidity and no air flow. Put a dehumidifier in your tub while you are away.

Sounds like powdery mildew. Increase air flow, decrease humidity, clean surfaces with mildewcide.
