I've found that campgrounds and RV parks are much more crowded now than they were even 4 or 5 years ago. Even traveling during late September and early October we found quite a few campgrounds and RV parks were full along the Oregon/Washington coast. If you plan on "winging it" have secondary plans for boondocking, or camping without amenities.
