A&E Awings

The awing on my new/used 5th wheeler looks cheap. I have had a Carter and Carefree awing. Carter is the better built, but the are not around anymore. Now I have a A&E awing and I find it to be cheaply made. The arms are thin sheet metal. So thin you think you going to brake it when snapping then together. My Carter and Carefree are aluminum and much better made. Is the A&E awing made strong enough to last for years or something placed on my trailer to sell it?

  • What model A&E awning do you have? We've had their 8500 series manual awnings on both our previous and current coaches, and found them to be quite durable with extruded aluminum arms. We don't have anything to "snap together", so I'm not sure what you have.

My A&E is 10 years old.. but it is a malfunctioning power awning.

The Malfunction however was not A&Es fault...Hit a mountain with it and did not do as good a job as I should of of rebuliding.. Have since fixed,,,but have not fully tested since fixing.
