I have to take pause at some of the posts in this thread. If the folks own the land and are not bothering neighboring inhabitants what is the problem? I have been around a lot of construction in my 70+ years that couldn't match that quality.
As for meeting code, I have met a good number of code guys that had no idea about what they were doing and relied on that little book of rules. Just like our Constitution few knew how to interpret them. Many of them jot a gov't job due to not being able to hold one in the private sector. I am all for safe structures but much of todays nonsense is more about money than safety.:)
