Air bag recall for some popular toads upgraded to "Critical"

Seems like no brand is untouched. Our Jeep and Chevy have been recalled for the inflators. But they say the parts aren't available currently so it's safe to drive them until they get parts. I wonder if the parts WERE available if they'd tell a different story?
