- prichardsonExplorerIt all depends where you are at. Here in the deep south it is a must except in the middle of winter. That said there are many times in my travels to the northern or higher altitude parts of the country that it was not needed.
- WNYBobExplorerThis year we will camp in July for the first time in 6 years, so we'll probably use it.
- BurbManExplorer IIIt's just like the a/c at home, you turn it on when it's hot/humid.
- VeebyesExplorer IIDepends on outside temp & sometimes noise. Prefer the sounds, or lack of, in a CG & also fresh air with everything open.
- kellemExplorerFor us it's all about humidity.
Warm and humid, AC is running.
Moderate temps,dry air, windows open.
Are latest trailer has ducted AC and is MUCH quieter than our previous with center blast AC so we can actually have a conversation.
Wife and I camp year around. - TvovExplorer IISpring and fall is fine without A/C, but camping in midsummer in direct sunlight... camper just becomes an oven.
We usually camp at more rustic, non-hookup campground in spring and fall, but in the middle of summer we go for the electric hookup in case we need the A/C.
Oh, there have been summers where we just didn't need the A/C. In that case, I always make sure to turn it on at least once during the year to make sure it is working. - pasusanExplorerFor us it depends on the outside temperatures. We normally camp in the spring and fall so we don't use it much at all. Open windows are our preference.
But we do use the fan for white noise at night.
