Air Conditioning how many do not use it.

Btw, funny story, most of our camping is cool enough to not warrant firing up the AC.
But the first day we were going to want AC when we stopped for the night, Few years ago, I managed to smash it on a low clearance entrance! Just entering into 2 weeks in the Midwest in July....dammmit!
So, yes, we never use AC, because it is now a $24.99 vent hatch!

If you’re up this way I could use a cheap low hour ac unit. I’ll buy it from you. I’ll even re install a vent cover in its place for you!

As Gabby would've said, darned tootin' we use ours - both of them. Mostly camp SW OK & N TX, summer temps in 100s, we're so soft we couldn't do it without. Nighttime generally cool enough without the sun beating down we can run the front AC low.

And, yes, I use the AC quite a lot in the Southwest.

How about another question along the same vein like . . . who uses their furnace in winter?

I'll bet the results from Green Bay, WI will be different from Yuma, AZ.

Location, location, location

If I couldn't use my AC, I would sell the motorhome. We live in Florida and use our motorhome mostly in the summer. Most of the RV sites here in Florida are booked during the cooler months due to all the snow birds. During the summer, places become available again and we use the motorhome a lot. Mid 90's and high humidity would be a killer without running both our AC units.

We use it regularly, especially since our dogs hang out in the camper during the day when we go out. Just returned from South Dakota... one day it got up to 90 degrees. A few days later, 50 and rain all day.

Whether we use our A/C or not depends upon these factors:

1. Are we going to camp in the U.S. Deep South during March through Novermber?
2. Are we going to camp in the Western U.S. low deserts during April through October?
3. Are we going to camp in the Western U.S. high deserts during May through September?

We want an RV that is ready for U.S. hookup or no-hookup camping anywhere, anytime, and at any altitude. Our A/C and generator systems are priceless so as to be able to have this kind of flexibility ... as we as much as possible don't like to have to plan our U.S. RV camping locations and trips around our equipment (other than not having an all-wheel drive RV).

In other countries it might be required to have a full-on expedition type RV for this kind of flexibility ... but for the lower-48 U.S. we only require a small motorhome on an E450 chassis, with higher than stock ground clearance, and riding on M&S LRE tires.

We use ours quite often - even in MI in past week it's been 90 and humid. When it's dryer and pleasant outside, door and window opens. When in the south - using both a/c's was not uncommon just to get the temperature inside down to 80. Wouldn't be without A/C.

This thread should have a Part 2, all those that NEVER use their AC, where do you camp.
We've camped, (or RV'd, which ever you choose)from New England to NC, to Ohio to all over the West and back, and when the heat required it, we used the AC in all of them.
