Alignment.cost?

Curious as to what you pay in your area for an alignment on your TT.

We were at the dealers tonight...no they do not do it, but we checked who they use and the cost. We also checked with a couple of other places, there are not too many around us.
The cost is around $800 Canadian. We are curious to the cost in your area.

  • I had it done for a total of $195.00 for both axles. The tech guy said the Lippert axle material seemed soft so he added some camber for free.
  • Had our TT aligned last May at a frame shop in Topeka, KS that specialized in large trucks and trailers. Cost was $ 349.00. Tires were wore out with severe cupping on the inner and outer treads with only 4000 miles. At first glance tires looked like they had been run under inflated, but I have been very religious about maintaining the correct tire pressure. Trailer came with Chinese bias tires with bad sidewall cracking after one year. Replaced the bias tires with radials and very happy with both the alignment and radial tires.
  • Mine was under $300. It was done at a truck alignment shop and the dealer who was selling the TT to me had it done (so I'm not sure if he got the "industry" rate).
  • In NH it cost $120 to put it on the rack. Then a max of $300, if work needs to be done. But could be less if just simple adjustments are needed. Mine cost $225, with camber. On one axle, and tow in on the other.
  • Last week I went to a shop that specializes in eighteen wheelers and motor home body repairs and alignments. I was quoted $331.50 which was higher than what I expected after researching this subject on this forum. After being on a waiting list for three weeks I finally got the call that I could bring my rig in for alignment. After unhooking and talking with the mechanic that was going to do the work I was told that the alignment did not include adjustments to camber. Camber was my specific problem. So, I asked what it would cost if camber needed adjusting. Camber adjustment would be another $600 to $800. I was also told 95% of the trailers they align need an adjustment to camber.

I didnt like the way this was going so I hooked up and got out of there as quick as I could.

STILL LOOKING FOR AN HONEST SHOP.
  • Under $200. here in Minnesota at most of the big rig truck/trailer suspension shops. Don't waste your time at an RV dealer they won't be able to do anything but mess with your Correct Track system That still leaves the camber and toe adjustments to do. A real alignment shop will do all three, tracking, camber and toe without the added expense of a Correct Track system...
