One of most horrible experiences was at the rv park in Woodbury, MN.
They have a swing gate with a latch on it so that people know do not know about the latch cannot come in. We were not told about that nor were we told he closes it at 6pm and NO ONE except those staying there is allowed in.
We were up visiting son / family on our first day (of 10) and got back about 7pm - still daylight. I figured out how to open the gate and there was a 5er behind us so I pulled the truck and let him in and then closed the gate behind him.
We no sooner got to our site than the owner came out and told us he was throwing us out and no refund. And told us we violated the rule (which we were never told). Of course he had been doing his "5 o'clock" pretty solid.
(But earlier in the day we had had (along with many other people) a discussion with his wife in the office (only place you can do WiFi - a router) who insisted all our computers were bad and the WiFi was fine. We, of course, then went down the road to a coffee shop and, amazingly, all our computers were just fine.)
Told us if we were not out in 15 minutes he was calling the police. He is closed and 6pm and no one in, etc, etc. Had everyone in the park looking at him.
Well, since there is no other place even close to this one I cranked up my old marketing skills to negotiate and we got to stay the night - then the next day he came by and never said a word about us having to leave so I just kept my mouth shut and we stayed the full time - and far away from him.
So, it just depends on the park. Some are closed but I think most have some sort of a late arrival policy and procedure. Call in advance.
