Amish country camping

I am looking for a campground in Ohio's Amish country. Not one of the RV parks (parking lot) but a nice campground with space and scenery.
Any info would be much appreciated, thanks!

  • Scenic Hills and Berlin RV are near Berlin, Ohio. Both are what some might call parking lots along with Evergreen in Mount Eaton. Amish Country Campsites is north of Winesburg a spit but sites are small with no activities area for children. The closest to a "campie" would possibly be Meadow Lake Campground just north of Wooster. Been a while since I've been there, (too close to home) but some campsites are in the woods. There is a swimming pond there and I think a fishing pond. Millersburg is approx 30 miles south with Berlin, Kidron, Orrville, Wilmot, Fredericksburg, Maysville, Applecreek, all being a shorter distance and within 30 minutes. Sugercreek is a little farther.

Ah! Found their website so check it out HERE.

Just thot of another campground is Whispering Hills. and Camptoodik. There are others if you go to Mohican area but can't remember them all.

  • Please note that Country Acres is located in Lancaster Co. Pa and not Ohio!

    I suggest:
    Evergreen Park RV Resort

Campground is on the southern edge of Mt Eaton Ohio. Holmes County area.
    Very well kept property!
  • Only problem is that this is not in Ohio
Amish Country (normally considered in NE Ohio around Holmes County for the touristy stuff). But there are scattered Amish communities around many parts of Ohio from the NE corner down to Adams County along the Ohio River in the southwest.

Country Acres is centrally located and might meet your needs.

I remember years ago being in PA Amish country on vacation. One day I called in to check in with work and there was a band playing in my background. My co-worker asked "Where are you?" I could honestly answer, "I'm in the middle of Intercourse.":)
  • Years ago we stayed at a place called Warwick Woods I believe, it was close to real Armish farms. If I remember right that had real nice rock fire pits.
