1997 Country Coach

I didn't see where the age of the CC was mentioned so my guess of a value would be wasted effort.

But the things you've mentioned would make it a no sale for me unless I could get it for a bargain basement price.

No slides? Poor resale value. Only starting the engine without taking it out on the road for 20 miles or so each time? I'd not want to own it for long. Might make a good flippable RV though, if I could get it at a low enough price. Peeling clearcoat? Very much $$$. You'd want to head down to Mexico and get that done down there.

The coaches that have popouts,are they prone to not working where the selonoids click or just usually a connection problem or low voltage? Do they have a manual crank also?

I think you are talking 'slideouts'? 'Popouts' are manually extended and have springs to help operate them (like those Colman folding campers), slides are electrically or hydraulically operated.

Anyway, slides need the batteries to be in good condition to operate. Clicking solenoids usually indicate a nearly dead battery. Most Class A RVs with slides do have a procedure for extending or retracting the slides for repair or other reasons but it's fairly involved because slides are usually very heavy. At least living room slides are. Retraction when the system is dead does require a crank type tool...my '02 Winnebago comes with one...but I hope to never have to use it. Only way to extend it without the power assist would require crawling under the RV with some big tools.

You have to change your settings. Go to the yahoo group page and on the left side you will see a tab that says "manage groups". Click on that and it will bring up all your yahoo groups. Then you change the mail subscription to "no emails". Save it and you are done.

There is way much better info on other sites than this one.

They had to do some weed control from all the rain we had this season and the motorhome was starting to sink into the ground some, so the son fired it up to move it out of its holes. dont think they took it for a spin though. I tried posting a picture of it, but something in my settings is not let it show up and I can't figure out what it is thats preventing it.

x2, he needed to drive it not just start it. Starting it is better than not, driving is way better than just starting.

You saw the owner running it so that is a good thing that they were starting it up regularly. Perhaps you just didn't see him moving and/or driving it regularly. Sounds like the owner knows what he is doing in regards to maintaining a parked MH.

If the owner kept up on maintenance on the coach IMHO there is nothing wrong with buying an older RV.

I have bought several older model MH's in my past time as an RV'er and they all brought me many miles of repair free traveling. Don't let others scare you away from buying used.

Hopefully he took it for a 30 min ride when he started it and not just start and let idle.
Just starting and letting it idle is the worse thing you can do to it. You need to drive it to get it up to normal operating temp. If not I would rather it just sat.
I would check to see if you have a dry pto. If so they make a wet kit for it that I think costs about $500.00
If there is a t fitting on the pto it has the kit here is a pic.




Check Windows for fogging and the snake looking seals between window glass.
They sell a DIY repair kit or you can have them done for 200-300 per window
I have a 1998 and it's all original and everything is still working as it should.
The clear coat really needs to be sanded and reshot $$$
