We take off for snow birding in a few weeks, and we just finished our annual wash and wax job.
It looks like it just came from the factory, and this one is now seven years old

Wash 5th wheel and truck before every trip. Usually manage to run though some rain!!

I normally do mine before leaving Michigan and again before leaving to return to Michigan.

WHY: well, it's an 800 mile hike over 2-4 days and frankly I get about a 10% increase in MPG when I wash and wax the RV. (Or more) and over 800 miles that is a lot of extra miles... About 3-40 dollars worth at recent prices.

No, it's not just you. Some people take pride in their equipment and toys.

I don't think there's anything anal about leaving with a clean rig.

I hate taking off with a dirty rig!
I always wash unless I know I'll hit rain.

The indoor storage facility where my MH is stored washes it every time it comes in for storage. When they put it out for me to use it is clean. I like the fact that I can leave on a trip with a clean MH. JMO

Before leaving for a trip - yes. And it's not Anal to do so. Maintenance and pride in ownership drive me.
