- scbwrExplorer III've done it more than once, especially when the trailer has been stored outside and needs to be cleaned. And, I like starting a trip with clean rig. Now that I have inside storage all year, I usually wash it when we return from a trip ad store it clean.

Apparently there are lots of folks here who do the same, so don't feel alone.
Is it just me, or is anybody else so anal they wash the trailer before leaving?
Personally I wash it when we get back - that's when it's dirty. - SteeljagExplorerYes....washed with a wash and wax product prior to leaving. With a pole brush it takes about 30 minutes, and allows me to look over the TT. Hand wax the front once a year.
- colliehaulerExplorer IIIIf you have a RO water system you can fill a garden sprayer for final rinse with the RO water and it will not leave spots. Saves a lot of drying.
With just the water softener mine leaves water spots. - DSDP_DonExplorerWe average about one trip a month that ranges from 7-10 days. The motor home NEVER leaves my yard unwashed. The roof gets washed every other trip (lots of dust in the area). The front 3M bra gets gently washed with microfiber and 303 applied every trip. The coach gets completely waxed 2-3 times a year and the lower half gets waxed 5-6 times a year. I wax the Onan generator once a year.
I use to be able to wash and wax the coach in one day. Now at 58 years old and a 40' long by 12' tall coach, it now takes me a couple of days to wax.
I recently bought the Costco portable water softener and use it for washing the coach. I wash the coach with soap, rinse with regular water and then do a second rinse with the water softener. I still dry the lower half with a towel, but the upper half now drips dry and doesn't spot. The water softener saves my knees....no more climbing up and down a ladder to dry the coach. - BurbManExplorer IIISorry I thought this thread was about something else.

Saw a guy wiping down his rig while stopped for lunch at a rest area. Not me. - pitchExplorer III generally just wash mine 2 or 3 times a season with a good thoro wash wax and caulk inspection going into winter.. It has never gotten absolutely horrible. I do do a lot of spot washing.

I usually wash and wax between each trip.
Now that's what I do. Of course I only take one trip a year for about three months at a time. No sense washing it just before I leave home. There is a lot of road grime on a trip of 1700+ miles each way. And not always, but usually some stormy weather along the way. - xaugievikeExplorerBefore every trip...and I usually buff and wax the front cap too. And then I usually wash the bugs off the nose when I arrive too.
