Does your trailer have leaf springs? I lot of what you are feeling may be from the suspension of the trailer. Since the trailer frame, hitch, and the tow rig are all steel, acoustics are transmitted through the whole combination.
An airsafe hitch is certainly a good solution, but some vibration will still be transmitted since the airsafe only isolates up/down motion. I would look into some upgrades for the trailer, like switching to a TorFlex axle, or maybe even air-ride.
