:h The angle of the hitch head (and therefor the ball angle) should not change when the bars are put under load. Whatever angle you set at the beginning is where it should stay. If it changes, then something is wrong.
Most hitch setups require the head to be at somewhat of an angle before the bars are tensioned. How much is determined by:
1. Size of A frame members
2. Amount of tension required on chains/bars to get desired WD
3. Type of bars - round or trunnion style
4. Size/weight of bars
5. Where coupler is located on A frame - top, middle, or bottom.
I may have forgotten another requirement or two. :)
