No different than all the corn and bean fields being swallowed up by land developers all around the Indianapolis area. It stinks seeing corn field and back road I grew up with turning into mega shopping centers, 4 lane divided roads and massive apartment and housing complexes. I'm not mad at the developers, I'm mad at the old farmers that caved in.
Can't blame Camping World for being aggressive. Blame the mom-and-pop shop who caved and all of US who didn't support them for the big-box store that had lower prices!
No different then the big mega farmers swallowing all up all the marginal land and putting it into some sort of production. All the good hunting ground in my are is being turned into cattle production. That would ne fine if they did it back like they used to do. But, instead they put so many cows on that pasture that they eat the grass down to black dirt in 2 weeks. Then the start feeding the cows there. The black dirt washes off into the creek and goes down stem to your home.
The government use to run a thing called Conservation Reserve Program. It has been around for more then 30 years. In out present political environment this program is considered a bad thing.
all of that marginal land will be put back into crop land and all of that great hunting ground will be lost.

There's a lot of this going on with CW buying out various local RV dealerships. Isn't this monopoly?
Not even close in Southern California. The area has many RV dealers, some are very large with more than one location and some that are Mom and Pop shops. Actually, CW has a very small presence in the area.
Good to hear. They're here in the valley and purchased a long time locally owned business, but up to a year kept it secret that they were bought out by keeping their own name. They still have their name, but are owned and run by CW. Ugghhhh!!! And here I am on the forums. The irony of it all.
We had the pleasure of getting Nelson rv in Caldwell Id to help us and now it is CW and no way we will enter that place now.

That's who I was talking about. We've purchased 4 of our 5 RV's from Nelson's before they became CW. Shame. - larry_barnhartExplorer

chevman - rhagfoExplorer IIIWell that gives a total of four in Washington not quite a monopoly!
I will say if run like the one in Burlington they won’t last long! We started a purchase at the Woodvillage location in Oregon and was doing the PDI and final paperwork at Burlington, this was a used unit on consignment. Well PDI went ok and we finished the paper work, about two days later we get a FedEx/UPS delivery with all the paperwork that should have gone to the Woodvillage location! We sent it back and about a week we get it back again! At this we thought about just holding it and seeing how long it would take for them to miss it!
Instead we did the right thing, called our Woodvillage salesperson, and he came by and picked it up.
I still wonder if we would still have it? - ReneeGExplorer

There is a camping world 5 miles from us in Lowell Arkansas that left me in the lobby for 2 hours with $75k in my pocket and no one would help me even though I had an appointment. Drove a couple hours south to Jaymatt RV in Poteau Oklahoma and it was like being in another world. Got a much better deal and great customer service before and after the sale. Last year they sold out to Camping World and guess what, not hearing all the good things I used to hear about them. Sad.
