There's a lot of this going on with CW buying out various local RV dealerships. Isn't this monopoly?
Not really, but when they buy enough others out in your area, you could find yourself at their mercy when buying and you'll be paying the higher price unless you're ok with buying at a distance. And from what I have experienced on 3 different occasions with them while trying to make a purchase, I would not buy there if they were the last place on earth. - ReneeGExplorerThere's a lot of this going on with CW buying out various local RV dealerships. - shelbyfvExplorerI don't know if it was a "mom and pop" family business, but if so the buy out could be considered a success story. Started in 1973, they could have been well into 2nd generation operation. If the business did well, the next generation could have had enough advantages that they didn't have to work 7 days a week at a retail store. I'll bet most small business owners want something "better" for their kids. Good for them if they did well with the buy out.
- DutchmenSportExplorerNo different than all the corn and bean fields being swallowed up by land developers all around the Indianapolis area. It stinks seeing corn field and back road I grew up with turning into mega shopping centers, 4 lane divided roads and massive apartment and housing complexes. I'm not mad at the developers, I'm mad at the old farmers that caved in.
Can't blame Camping World for being aggressive. Blame the mom-and-pop shop who caved and all of US who didn't support them for the big-box store that had lower prices!
