Another fake-out weekend

Spring fever is making me anxious.

Right now while I'm working, it's sunny outside, and dead calm. Despite being below freezing, I consider it nice weather.

So I ask my phone, what's the weekend forecast. The response, 40 percent snow tomorrow, 90 percent rain snow mix for Sunday, along with strong winds, and lows in the 20s both days.

Guess I'm not camping this weekend.
  • We're southern Michiganders. I agree, normally this time of year we're getting things cleaned, washed, and pressurized ( check for leaks). Our first trip every year is over Mother's Day weekend to Frankenmuth. It might be a mad rush to get things done this year. Snowing as I look out the window right now, my Edenpure heater blowing on my feet.

Was hoping to get some stuff done today. Guess I can take a nap.
  • Seems late in the year for that white stuff! I don't recall many, if any, April snows when I grew up in MI (near Standish). Too bad you can't head south, we're having 70s in OK.
  • We had snow in central Indiana yesterday. I did not accumulate, but it was snow!

Coming home from work today, it rained ice, almost like hail.

Darn Groundhog! He said it would be an early Spring this year! I think that was more than 6 weeks ago now when he said that and sure haven't seen it yet!

Sometimes we just go ahead and head out... Cold weather is just another test on how to keep warm running off the battery setups. When it warms back up during the day makes it great as then you can adjust things for the next cold night...

We used to have great success just putting up a 9X12 canvas wind breaker hanging between two trees... Made all the difference in the world haha...

If this were January or February I would agree. I love winter camping and enjoy being one of the few in a largely deserted campground. The dog and I would go hiking in the snow, he'll stay outside and I enjoy canking up the propane heater to warm up again. Butt it's too late for that, my brain has told my body winter is over and I've lost my cold tolerance for the season :)

Sorry the weather is keeping you from getting out and about this weekend.
A little while ago a sudden hail storm fell in the city and battered the local daffodils:(. Still haven't seen any tulips on my side of town and they should have already been out. Weird weather.

A bunch of my tulips have their leafs up, but no flower stem yet, hopefully they can hold off for a few more weeks.

We had a mix of hail, rain and snow last weekend - it wasn't pleasant either, luckily my area was spared the 6-8 inches of accumulation received nearby.
  • It feels like its 30 outside and we just dusted with some snow. I love spring!

  • Exactly why we don't live in Northern Michigan. Here in the rainy NW spring has also sprung.Worked on the roof of the motorhome sealing some seams and wouldn't you know it; I got a sunburn.
