This stuff happens far more often than it's reported. This one made the news because someone caught it on video. The last time we were there we saw an elk buck charge 2 elderly women that were walking up to it to get a photo. Fortunately he backed off just before he hit them. It was just a warning. People think because it's a national park it's like a zoo. It never occurs to them that it's a real wilderness.
