We upgraded our home bed from a queen to a king and then swapped the old trailer queen (which we had put on 2 - 2" foam pads on top of since it was new) for our old queen.. Yes, the home queen is a little bit longer, but it still works in the trailer.. It is a lot heavier, so the under bed storage access is now harder, but we have that worked out now too.
We did keep one of the the 2" foam pads and put it on the home queen and now it's even better.
The old trailer queen bed wasn't 'bad' as such, with the extra pads, but that old home queen bed cost a grand over 20 years ago and I was not going to just toss it out! :)
I know that's probably not what will work for the OP, but just tossing it out there..
