Antenna question

This might be a dumb question. When aiming the roof top antenna which part
points towards the station.? When looking at the knob inside does the arrow point the direction the antenna is aiming? I know when lowering the antenna the arrow points to the mark on its base. I hope this is not confusing. Thanks everyone.

  • THE INSIDE ARROW ONLY SHOWS THE PROPER STOW ALIGNMENT, NOT THE ANTENNA FACE WHICH IS +-90 DEGREES ONE WAY OR THE OTHER. YOU NEED TO GO OUT AND SEE WHICH WAY YOURS IS, THEN GRAB A SHARPIE AND MARK IT.
  • Inside arrow depends on installation. Batwind is a dipole antenna, reception is off sides, ends are null. Unless WyoTraveler says different. The inside arrow is to tell you where to set for storing.
  • The 'front' of antenna is part that should be aimed at towers.
The 'front' is the part that is opposite of 'mast' (support arms that connect to back)

My arrow inside rig is 90* off of direction front points
  • Batwing without wingman, flat side points to station. reception is at 90 degrees to antenna. With a wingman, point wingman at station. strongest reception in direction of wingman, second strongest exactly opposite to wingman.
