Antenna question...

Make sure that you antenna amplifier is turned on and that your new TV is set to receive ANTENNA, and not cable signals. This is done through the MENU input options. Let your TV do an automatic search of antenna channels and you should be good to go.

My Georgetown has a switch box in the cabinet with the DVD to change from a cable connection to antenna so signal from antenna is going to tv.

some have a light on an amplifier switch in the area of tv somewhere, light should be on for air tv and ant cranked up. then scan the tv menu for auto search on air or antenna setup and scan.

Nike, when scanning remember that the digital signals are more sensitive to direction than the old analog. Once you find a signal the TV menu should have a signal strength meter. Use it and tweak the direction for the strongest signal and then scan again, you might pickup some more stations.

According to some I am too dumb to answer this question. So....

If your batwing antenna was working fine for analog TV it will work fine for digital. There is no such thing as a "digital antenna". If you are seeing "fuzz" it sounds like you are trying to tune an analog signal. Make sure your TV is set for antenna and not cable and make sure you are scanning for digital stations.

If you are hooked up to cable, the amplier must be off, it took a while to figure this out. Otherwise run a scan of channels, turn antenna if needed to get best reception. Your present antenna will work just fine.

Don't replace that Wingard Bat Wing until you read this thread. With the addition of the Wingman, Winegard still had the best RV antenna.
You have been given some good advice. IE make sure 12 volt power is going to the antenna, all connections are proper and you run a scan on your new TV.

Nike, It is a little hard to give directions without knowing exactly how you are hooked up to the antenna but, if the antenna amp is on and the cable is feeding directly to the RF connection in the back of the set, your input should be set to Antenna. Performing the channel search should get you most of the stations in your area. Someone mentioned the signal meter, that is part of getting good reception. On my sets, I have to change the input to HDMI to use my BluRay player because it only has HDMI output.

Cable TV, and Antennas are RF but other components like DVD players, BluRay players and some VCRs are not. TV needs to know what signal in being sent to the set. There should be a really good explanation of this in the on-line manual for your set.

With the MoHo parked in front of the house, I get over 50 stations using the Batwing, some of those are digital music but still they are digital signals, so the batwing will work great if the signal is there.
