We got lucky when two site opened up at Lake Mineral Wells SP. Since near record lows and moderate high temps were forcast I was surprised anything was available. It was amazing to sleep with the AC off and the windows open. That ust doesn't happen in Texas during July. Our site was covered up with deer and all other kind of fur and feathered critters. Two things happened while I was walking the old dog. First, I came on a guy mowing his campsite; I thought that was a little odd. Most people try to get away from the urban noise and yesterday my dog was attacked by a yellow Lab. My hound is a smallish shorthair pointer about 14 years old. The Lab was large with a bad attitude. Loose dogs is second only on my sh*t list to people who don't pick up after their dogs.
