Any 4th of July camp experiences?
Well, since we didn't make it to a campground this year I miss all the people watching. Anyone have any experiences to share from there holiday trips?

We were boondocking on the North Fork of the Shenandoah River on some private land with 6 or 7 other small family groups. There was one other RV, a smaller trailer, with a father/son duo. The rest were in tents or the back of a Suburban.
Had our 15'4" canoe tied to the top of the TC and paddled around all day Saturday. One other canoe in the group and everybody else in tubes or on rafts. Due to our height, I had a guy blazing a trail with loppers while standing on the roof as I backed up, to get to the clearing near the river. He did a great job. The worst part of the trip was an allergic reaction to the latex in one of the girls using a tube. She was fine, but uncomfortable for a while. We must be getting old because nobody else got hurt and nothing was broken, missing, or catching on fire.
We'd camped there many times over the past 15 years with most of the same people, but this is the first occasion that anyone showed up in an RV. It sure was nice to have a water closet and a real bed to sleep on (and a microwave, and a fridge, and AC).
