We were at Hamlin Beach state park by Lake Ontario. I had two small American flags set up on either side of the driveway to our site.
Some little girl (4 or 5 yrs) wiped out on her scooter right by one of the flags. She got po'd at the flag, pulled it out of the ground and threw it in the bushes and took off. DW just happen to see it. So I went and picked it up and put it back in it's place.
A few minutes later DW happens to be looking out there and the little girl is back and reaching for that flag to do it again. Unbelievable! DW pointed a finger at her and she took off.
A bit later, we go to take the pups for a walk. I look and the flag is still there. OK. Good deal! I look over to the other side of the drive and that one is gone and in the bushes. Son of a pup!! I was hot!!
I imagine that at that age she has not much understanding of respect for our flag, and as a veteran I take that personally, but respect of other people's property was apparently never taught to her. Just wish I had known which site she came from. Her parents would have gotten an earful.
And had it been my dd I would have welcomed you telling meg and she would have been in trouble. Not all parents are lax about there kids and respecting others.
