We have had our Air Command unit for a couple of years now. It is quieter than our old Dometic unit but not by a whole lot. It does a fine job of cooling our trailer and the same goes for the heat function. I would purchase it again if needed. We use portable electric heaters more however because they are quieter than the Air Command blower.
OP, in your case, I don't think you can get the heat function in the smaller unit that you would need for your RV.
All the above said, I don't think I would purchase one just for the noise factor. You have a perfectly good air conditioner that is only a year or so old and the Air Command unit is not going to be that much quieter to make it a worthwhile purchase, in my opinion.
