My 2018 Vintage cruiser came stock with a 13.5 K BTU Non-ducted Coleman A/C which is SO loud you can barely carry on a conversation or hear the television when it's running. I saw online discussion where folks had replaced it with the Atwood Air Command which is supposed to be much quieter and much more efficient.
I'm wondering of anyone else has done this and what were your results?
We have a Vintage Cruiser that came with the Dometic A/C and have changed it to the Atwood Air Command 13.5 unit. The air flow in the RBS is so much better you can feel it in the front by the the bed and the unit is so much quieter you can carry on a conversation and also hear the TV. Not that the Dometic didn't cool but if you have cleaned the filter you will notice that the cold air return runs right thru the forward facing vent which really cuts down the air flow to a certain area. The bonus of the remote control is great. We had replaced a Coleman Mach on a motorhome we had with the 15k unit with heat pump and have to agree it was okay but still a heat pump and we know how they work. I was able sell takeoff unit for a good price so it was somewhat of a wash on the cost. Check on internet for best price. They are a well constructed unit and the two motors use less amperage and can actually be run on low with out a risk of freeze up.
