Speaking as someone who has the same (magnificent) truck, yes you need WDH because of the hitch weight.
You think it handles ok now (like my buddy did with his) but after adding the appropriate WDH you will see what a difference it makes.
Enjoy the truck, it is arguably the best combination ever built!
