Ok, so the consensus seems to be that it will be an improvement in handling but not everyone feels it's necessary all the time?
I'm thinking a 700 lb tongue weight on a truck with a 5700 lb payload cannot possible return that much weight to the front wheels.
It seems to me the bars would have to be really tight to have much effect.
As for sway control, I just have a set of old style WD bars. In my limited test drive there seems little need for any kind of sway control.
Remember we are talking about a one ton truck with a heavy diesel engine up front. Light duty vehicles like Tacomas, Explorers, XTerra, Rav4, 4Runners almost always need weight distribution/sway mitigation for towing much more than a tent trailer. I would even put most domestic half tons and even the the Tundra in that category when it is finished towing the space shuttle around to the side yard.
