We don't have any fuel station credit cards. In fact, we don't have any credit cards at all, except 1, which gets used twice a year and paid off immediately and dedicated for extreme emergencies only.
Meanwhile, we use our bank ATM-Credit-Debit card. It's MasterCard underwritten and we've never had problems using it anywhere we've traveled for years and years now. However, we do call the bank fraud division before heading out on any out-of-state trips (with trailer or not with trailer), and let them know the length of time we'll be out of state and which states we plan on traveling through. They unflag the fraud prevention for those locations and 20 minutes later, we are good to go. Never had a problem. And it's always funds from our bank account, no risk of actually accruing true credit that has to be paid back with interest later.
Works for us.
