Whichever you put in go with flooded lead acid and don't waste your money on AGM and be sure that they are true deep cycle and not the "hybrid" or marine ones.
I agree in saving money. Do you have an example of this waste of money with AGMs? How much would be wasted?

I'd kinda like to know why AGMs are a waste of money too? I have a single 4D AGM which is now 4 years old. I anticipate getting another 4 years of trouble free life out of it.
The AGM has become the battery of choice in the marine world. It is the battery of choice in the aviation world. It is standard for many high end motorhome builders. There is no maintenance, no gassing, can be put anywhere you have space. Unlike the wet cell which begins to lose voltage as soon as a load is applied the AGM tends to hold its voltage under load till near the end of the useful charge when the voltage drops off rapidly.
Not having all of those connections in a 6V series bank is good too. Fewer connections means fewer potential places to leak & cause problems.
Wet cells, especially the 6V banks are fine if you don't mind the maintenance & don't mind buying 2 to 3 sets of batterys in the lifespan of one AGM. Yes AGMs are expensive put the payback comes over the lifetime & time not spent fussing with watering.
