- Super_DaveExplorerGuess he should define dribble, I interpret "dribble" as while you drive.
- VeebyesExplorer IIYup, but not at designated campsites. Dispersed camping where it might be days, weeks before anyone is near.
Grey out of the RV is no different than the tent camper dumping everything but the porta potty on the ground. - StarkNakedExplorer IINope, never!

I won't dump (or even dribble) gray. If each successive camper dumps their gray - it turns into a stinky/slimy mess. There's also food particles in it, which can attract unwanted visitors like rodents/skunks, etc
this ^^
X2 - jdc1Explorer IIOnly after everyone else's campsite lights are out....

- ThermoguyExplorer III attended an event this summer in a town where all the hotels were booked. A bunch of people rented TT's from a local shop. They set all the RV's up with the Grey (shower) cracked open. I'm sure it was so they wouldn't fill up over the 4 days we were there. I closed the one next to me as you could definitely smell the soapy water. I have had to open mine a few times depending on where we are and how long we are there. I always wait until it is full first, then find a way to drain off enough to get through the stay. I have a hose, so I connect my garden hose to it and drain it either under the trailer or off to some shrubs. I don't like doing it and can definitely smell it, but sometimes you need more space. I am discreet when I do it.

Gray water still has an odor to it, yrs ago a guy next to me did that at a campground where the ground was crushed stone, the gray water stained the ground & yeah it stunk. It also come downs to how well of a job over time are you removing the food stuff before it hits the drain, I'm sure most folks don't pay too much attention to this.
Now this said we have visited some OLDER parks in CT that allow or are grandfathered where you can dump the gray water directly on the ground, some of the parks have a pvc pipe that sticks shallow into the ground and some just let you run the hose on the ground and drain...Go figure as CT has to be one of the most regulated/permitted states in the US
Mike - If needed we have done this as well..
Like most stated, grey water is just dish/wash water and is not damaging anything.
