Anyone flat tow a Corvette, Mitsubishi 3,000, GT or a

Miata? I know about the lists but they don't always work on older used cars. I'm thinking of replacing my tow, a 1985 Toyota MR2, which I bought new. No one said it was towable four down but it has done well. Bob
  • Years back, I flat towed my '63 Split Window Coupe from Texas to Indiana, Indiana to California and California to Washington state behind a big Plymouth ststion wagon with no problems what so ever. Of course, I removed the drive shaft in order to do it safely.

    Definately!!

  • Can't help with towing the other cars you mentioned, but would like to know how you towed your MR2, since I have a 1986 I have thought about towing.

  • First and second generation Miatas (1990-1997 and 1999-2005) with a manual transmission can be towed 4 down. I'm not sure about the current generation, but the transmission is a similar design to the earlier ones, so I suspect they would be fine also.
