After nine years of full timing I asked my wife is she was still happy with the lifestyle.
She gave me "the look." You married guys know what I mean, it is the look that says:"I can't believe you even asked me that," and said to me: "If I ever become unhappy, I'll let you know."
I guess I need not ask THAT question anymore. :)
We are in our 8th year and Elaine is in same frame of mind as yours. We just turned 75 and have a lot of plans of where to go and what to do. Two years ago we ran into a couple that had just turned 84 and took off for six weeks at a time in their Casita. I said "Wow, 84, we have another 10 years to keep traveling!" She gave me a look and said basically "Sonny, you have another 20 years since we plan to do this until we are 95."
This has been the summer of mootchdocking at our kids' places, all of them are on I-25. Each has a place for us to set up and a 30 amp outlet; however, we have been solar autonomous for two years and have not had to use their power. If things get worked out between Mexican insurance and Mexican customs, we will return to Yucatan for the third time. We made it to Tikal 2 1/2 years ago but the roads deteriorate past there are not for this couple driving a 34' 5th wheel. People do it, but not us. Planned to do the Trans-Labrador and then Newfoundland this summer but friends had weddings in the middle.
