I will admit to being one who can get snarky. Usually it is to the folks that demean and condemn everything about California. Almost as much to grouches that tell to do a search, but mostly it is to those who know a subject better than anyone and never tell you how to solve or correct the problem.
I try and be inventive when I am faced with a problem and if I ask it here, I usually get great responses. I have posted sometimes, rudely when I post a way of doing something and the experts chime in and tell everyone that it should be done their way, or have improvements to how they would do it, without even taking a good look at an idea or method of doing a task.
Something that really burned me was when I posted a way of using a hole saw to make a hole in the roof for the antenna where there was an irregular existing hole and no place to drill a pilot hole. I have been making jigs to do that for probably 40 or 50 years, but the replies were from it's unsafe, the hole saw will bind, to you should use at least a 2'X4" board for the jig and get two more people up on the roof to hold the 2"X4". They had never tried my idea but knew intuitively that it wouldn't work or would be unsafe.
I use to respond to the snarks but pretty much tried to stop of late. Many times I just pretend they didn't post anything and emailed the OP with a solution or repair manual and even an original thought of my own. I get a lot of thank you notes back from folks.
I also like to tell people with problems and to which someone like SCjeff or Chris Bryant has given a correct answer, that they are guys that are very experience and have great ideas or carefully researched answers.
At only 18 years of self-contained RVing I still consider myself a newby and ask for help here often, I hope the Forums continue for awhile longer. When I turn 80 or if the health gets much worse, I'm giving the Adventurer to the DGKs in the hope their Mom will let them use on their own.
TIA for letting me vent.
