Are RV forums dying?

Seems to me we get less and less participation in this forum each year:

  • Have possibly Facebook groups taken the place?
  • I think a combination of too much bickering and nothing new to discus. Same questions have been asked and answered over and over. And same topics have been cussed and discussed over and over. And the frequent answer "if you had done a search you would have found this has been answered before". Those and the sarcasm, arguing, and personal attacks that so often invades the discussions is enough to turn people away.

I frequent another forum not listed above that is brand specific. It has none of the arguing, bickering, sarcasm, ect. and activity does not seem to have dropped off on it.
  • There are some forums that by their nature are dynamic others that are more static. Here it looks to me that you are dealing with manufactured RV's and attendant problems.
The Teardrop & Tiny Travel Trailer forum is very dynamic in part because most are home made or very modified. How do you deal with building, plywood, Filon, aluminum skin, storage, where do you put wet shoes in a current discussion.
  • A lot of people don't like being made fun of when they ask a question that others know the answer to and post a sarcastic remark about the question.....

What do you think is happening? Campgrounds seem full. Manufacturers are going gangbusters. Yet, traffic appears to be down and we get less participation on this forum. What gives?

    And...?
  • Maybe more people are retiring and going RVing rather than sitting home and talking about it? :)
