Well, folks, here I am again asking for your help. The last time I did this I was asking for help for a friend of mine. BTW, your prayers worked, he is recovering, might not be the "Same" but, he's walkin' talkin' doing good. Thanks.This time, well, it's a bit closer to home. It turns out the my MIL has Pancreatic Cancer that may have spread to her intestines. Going in on Friday for an EUS, hopefully they'll biopsy the tumor and determine a course of treatment.My wife is not ready for her to go. She's not ready to go. And, I'm not ready for her to go, either.Your prayers helped before, so, I'm humbly asking for them again.Thanks in advance.

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in one pretty and well preserved piece, but to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, worn out and defiantly shouting "Wow, what a ride!".All the best to your MIL and our hopes and prayers are for the best.

One must remember, all stories have a beginning and an end, death is as much a part of life as a berth.It is the story in between that is important.

AS you are asking for prayers. It seems that she may actually be ready to go. Thing about being a Christian. We are always ready to go. We just don't want to go right now. We can't know what God has in store for you, and your wife. I do pray that it is healing, and Grace to handle what ever he sends your way.

My thoughts are with you. I lost my mom to pancreatic cancer. That is very nasty stuff.

Prayers to you and your wife from my DH and me. I lost my mom to pancreatic cancer 8 1/2 years ago. She lived for 5 months after the diagnosis. It is very hard to lose your mom to such a terrible disease and my heart breaks for both of you.

Prayers from Indiana.

One of my friends was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer and had half of her pancreas and spleen removed about a month or two ago. She's still fairly young, in her 40's with her first grandchild just turned one. She's on a chemo pump and radiation five days a week. She's been doing most of her housekeeping, etc. for several weeks now. Saw her doctor last week and he said she is doing extremely well, in fact, much better than he expected. Hope your MIL improves like my friend.

I didn't even take winter into consideration. An Extended stay facility or the facility at Penn Med will definitely be better options.

TOOBOLD, thanks for asking about Lana. She's doing better than I expected. However, she's holding together, falling apart, repeat.

Here's something else. FIL has been suggesting Medical Pot. Home Care nurse and a video on CNN by Dr. Sanjay Gupta validated his support to MIL.

He made some "Brownies" she (MIL) ate one. A little while later she asked for Bacon and Eggs. After that, she took a shower, did dishes, did some Laundry and then started working with her laptop. INCREDIBLE.

I, am not advocating, advising or in any way promoting Med. Pot. I do know it's working for her.

In fact, I personally am highly allergic to pot.
