Attach 5th wheel rails to gooseneck plate or underbed rails

I just bought a 2008 Dodge 3500 Cummins turbo diesel dually long bed. It already has a gooseneck hitch installed under the bed. I want to install a Reese 20K 5th wheel hitch that a friend is selling me cheap. Can I bolt the 5th wheel rails through the truck bed directly to the gooseneck hitch plate (or rails)that is under the bed now? I am not sure what brand of gooseneck is in the truck. I'll get under there and look around in the next few days. Appreciate any thoughts on this potential modification. Danny

A friend of mine has a B&W hitch and a set of fifth wheel rails. Lots of people install both.

I know you can get the hitch cheap... But your gooseneck gives you some flexibility, especially to keep your trucks bed completly flat when your not towing a fiver.

For instance, if you have a Curt or a B&W gooseneck hitch you can get a Curt X5 Rail adaptor that will let you install any fifth wheel hitch you want.

If you have a B&W fifth wheel you can get a Companion Fifth wheel hitch

If you have a Reese, Draw-Tite, BullDog, B&W, or Hidden Hitch you can buy a High Rise fifth wheel hitch

Of, if you have ANY Gooseneck, There is the fabulous (And cost efficient) Andersen Ultimate Fifth Wheel Connection

Or you can install the fifth wheel rails along side of the gooseneck hitch. Just want you to be aware that there are many options available to you since you already have a gooseneck installed.

    Thanks!
