atwood hot water heater quit

2013 keystone springdale. Used hot water via electric about 2 months ago worked fine. Tried to use electric again this weekend didnt work. Switched on the gas and it worked for a little while then quit! Now won't come on at all. We followed all directions for checking obvious things, but still nothing. Anyone know how to fix? It's still under warrenty, but can't get into dealer for a month.

In the Atwood manual it shows you how to check the board with a muti meter that takes several mins. You can also look at the backside of the board to see if it has burned tracks (which would indicate a bad board) if the board it the newer type ,non potted. I would hook it up directly by passing the board to see if it works. Doing this will clean any contacts and probably cause it to work when re installed properly. Lastly if the ignighter keeps clicking when the hot water is turned on then shuts off, try reducing the air coming into the gas flow. If you get no power to it I would also check the thermal fuse they can go bad if they get wet or overheat. It is probably something simple.

Atwood uses just one set of t-stats for both electric & propane function.

    Check connections on both t-stats.....clean/tight
Check terminals on both t-stats....not loose/no wiggle
Check t-stats tight against side of tank
Check all ground connections.......clean & tight
did all that. I have poeer going to the circuit board, but no power coming out.

  • I had the same problem with my LP Atwood, I took it apart, put all the metal pieces on a wire brush and when I put it back together it works just fine now, I figured out it was a bad ground or connection. I also cleaned all the lugs too. Then I added a camco 110v conversion for 66.00 with free shipping from Amazon.com so I am covered either way now.
