Atwood's Helium Refrigerator

I am going to remodel the inside of my 2002 Winnebago after the first of the year. I love my RV, but some of the closets, drawers, etc. are breaking because of materials used and age.

I plan to replace my 6 cu ft refrigerator with the new Atwood's Helium Refrigerator. Has anyone bought one for their RV or did your new RV come with it? If you saw it at a Rally, what did you find out? I have been asking around and one of the things I know is Helium is not flammable like ammonia nitrate.

Thanks.

The Helium models still use ammonia, but replace the hydrogen with helium. Non of them use ammonia nitrate, rather they use aqueous ammonia and pure ammonia (along with water, sodium chromate and hydrogen or helium)
  • Hi,

If I were going to replace my fridge I'd go solar with an inverter and a beefed up battery bank, or I'd get a 12 volt danfoss compressor based fridge.
