How many or any owners are using the Hughes Autoformer? Or a Surge Protector? We need to purchase a new one, ours is dead after 15 years. Necessity or Not in your opinion? I will say we are believer...

I carry both also. I like having both as the Autoformer is portable and HEAVY. I like not having to heft it out when it's not needed (a majority of the time).
