Mr. Clean works great! Make it wet but not dripping. Simply wipe (do not scrub). Black and bugs dissolve. You may want to wipe it twice. While the spot on the awning is still wet, simply wipe with a dry towel and move to another section.
Yes, it's a little work, you need to use a ladder, but the results are amazing. And Mr. Clean leaves a chemical on the awning that retards black from coming back for a long-long time. It does not keep bugs from getting rolled up, but a quick touch up with Mr. Clean on the bug goo that mysteriously appears, just comes right off.
