Awning for slide out?

My TT did not come with one. Before I spend $700 can someone give me some pros and cons? Thanks....DJ
  • Are they perfect? Not by a long shot. Are they worth it? You decide. In windy conditions they can flap and make noise, they can hold water, and in high winds can be ripped off. The benefit, cooler slide room, no trash left on the roof when moved in.
  • Helps to keep trash and leaves off top of slide, shades top of slide cutting down on heat. better protection for top seal on slide. If and when water is standing on top of topper when slide is retracted, It will provide a good shower for anyone standing close. Just one, or is that the price for all slides. That price is a bit high, do a little shopping, but NOT at Camping World.
  • Those slide-toppers flap and makes lots of noise in windy conditions.
  • They can be purchased for less or more depending upon the dealer. They are certainly an advantage to keep the slide roof clean and not bring inside all the trash that falls upon it while it is extended.
